I’ve written a few books over the years related to motorcycle touring and camping. These summaries each have a link that will lead you to my website at Open Road Outfitters or Amazon where I have them listed. I may from time to time add other things that I like or use and those may contain affiliate links, meaning, if you follow them and buy the product, I get a small kickback.
I wrote Motorcycle Campers A to Z to help motorcyclists enjoy the comfort, savings and fun that a lightweight tent camper can offer. This book helps you understand the effects that a motorcycle camper can have on a bike’s performance, how to equip a motorcycle to handle a camper and best practices for safe towing. It also goes into detail about how to find the right camper for your needs, new or used.
Motorcycle Journeys Through the Appalachians was my first book and will always be my favorite. The Appalachians are my home and the thirty-eight loop rides in this book reflect some of the best riding in the mid-Atlantic from Pennsylvania to North Carolina.
For the most part, I skipped the Blue Ridge Parkway and focused on roads that don’t get as much attention (which is fine with me). NC 215, US 33, 220 and 250, VA 16 and 39, and many, many more.
Motorcycle Journeys Through North America was the book I’d always wanted to do. You could find great guides to different sections of the country, but what if you wanted to put together some gigantic multi-week rides and really cover some ground? That’s what this one’s all about.
The Essential Guide to Motorcycle Travel is a “how to” for riders who want to extend their journeys from around the block to around the continent. It covers ride planning, essential gear and tips on how to outfit your bike for the safe and enjoyable motorcycle touring.
